Women filmmakers form a sizeable chunk of the Indian Film industry. We have compiled and listed here useful information about Indian and global organizations that issue grants, funds, finances and create programmes almost exclusively for women filmmakers. Chicken and Egg Pictures Fund

Note: Chicken and Egg Pictures joined hands with Indian Documentary Foundation (IDF) to provide funding in India.
In 2015 it was announced that filmmakers Shazia Khan (I Never Left) and Megha Ramaswamy (The Firebirds) will receive a combined fund of $ 10,000 (USD) in funding.
Women in Film – Film Finishing Fund
Category Narrative, documentary, animated and/or experimental films, feature
or shorts as mentioned on the official website
The film has to be submitted in its rough cut stage
Grant amount Can go up to $ 25,000 USD in cash, in-kind and consultation
grants as per the official website.

Note: The 2016 fund application is available on the website. The deadline is June 30, 2016.
Jai Chandiram Memorial Fellowship by IAWRT (India Chapter)
Category Media and Research Projects (includes filmmakers) for
‘research, study tour, script development, dissemination, or
development of a multi-disciplinary performance’, as per the
guidelines of the association.
Grant amount Rs. 60,000/ (INR) – can be awarded to a single grantee or can be
shared by two.

Women in Film and Television Association India (WIFT)
WIFT Mumbai chapter is a part of the international non-profit organization Women in Film and Television International. It actively offers support and opportunities for women in film, television and other screen based media in India. Although it is not actively involved in assigning grants, funds or financial aids at present, it offers valuable internship and membership programmes for its members at both, student and professional levels.
